Marijuana Safety Team

Marijuana Safety Team

The Sheriff's Marijuana Enforcement Team is responsible for the enforcement of marijuana related regulations. This team is responsible for investigating everything from the illegal cultivation and smuggling/trasportation of marijuana on public lands to ensuring that participants in the medical marijuana program are in compliance with state law. These investigations are conducted using current surveillance techniques, examining financial records and utilizing citizen informants and undercover detectives to determine if violations have occurred.

Due to the differing regulations related to marijuana at the state and federal levels, the Marijuana Enforcement Team works in partnership with other local state and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure that marijuana regulations are enforced consistently across the board.
