Fresno County Jail Medical Services

The Fresno County Jail is proud to announce that our health services program has been awarded Full Accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) as of July 24, 2026.

This achievement reflects our strong commitment to providing high quality and constitutionally sound medical, dental and mental health care.  It places us among the 12% of correctional facilities nationwide that have achieved full accreditation.

NCCHC accreditation is considered the gold standard in correctional health care in American jails, prisons and juvenile facilities. The accreditation survey involves a rigorous, independent review of health operations, ensuring that our practices align with the most current and evidence based guidelines in the field.  Earning another full accreditation means our facility continues to meet all essential national standards and demonstrates excellence in areas such as clinical care, patient safety, health administration and continuous quality improvement.

This accomplishment highlights the dedication of our health services staff, leadership team, and collaborating partners.  It reinforces our ongoing commitment to delivering care that is timely, respectful and guided by professional integrity.  Most importantly, it reflects the high level of service we strive to provide every day protecting public health and supporting the humane treatment of those in our facilities.

We are honored to receive this recognition and remain committed to maintaining these standards in the years ahead.
