Shortly before 6:00 am Tuesday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a report of shots being fired near a home on the 4300 block of Kenmore Drive South in the Mayfair District. The caller said that the ex-boyfriend of a woman at the house had shown up in a black SUV towing a trailer and unloaded furniture in the front yard. The man, 30 year old Jose Padilla, has a domestic violence restraining order and it is a violation for him to get near the people at this house. A resident got into an argument with Padilla, he drove away and then they heard what they believed to be multiple gunshots being fired. Deputies searched the area, but nothing was found to be struck by bullets.

Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the gunman who killed Jesus Castor, 52, of Calwa. The shooting also injured Castor’s 77 year old mother. She is currently in Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Brent Nelson, 59, of Coalinga. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges of kidnapping and physical abuse an elder. Nelson’s bail has been set at $475,000.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office wants to make the public aware of an ongoing phone scam. Citizens have filed reports stating that a person made a phone call to them and identified himself / herself as a member of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested Stanley Pipes, 55, of Fresno. He faces a felony charge of murder. The Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Kristie Claassen, 62, of Fresno. Pipes and Claassen were engaged to be married.

Around 7:00 am on Monday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call where the caller stated that there was a man at a home on the 1000 block of S. Rogers Ln. in Fresno who was threatening to kill himself and that someone else in the house was already dead. Deputies forced entry into the house and found a woman who was deceased. Deputies detained a man in the house with unknown injuries. These were the only two people at the home when deputies arrived. The suspect and victim do know each other, however, their exact relationship has not been confirmed.

Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have booked Francisco Solis-Gonzalez, 27, of Fresno into the Fresno County Jail. He is facing felony charges of drug manufacturing and child endangerment. His total bail amount has been set for $150,000.
