Incarcerated Person Programs
The Jail Programs & Services Bureau seeks to enhance the welfare of incarcerated persons through a number of programs. Program eligibility may be limited to certain security classifications. Academic education is available to all incarcerated persons.
A variety of materials including religious, educational and recreational reading materials are made available to all incarcerated persons. Incarcerated persons may also have books, newspapers, and periodicals sent to them per the guidelines regarding mail.
The Sheriff’s Office employs chaplains who provide incarcerated persons with pastoral care and spiritual support. Members of the public may contact the chaplains at the following numbers, however, please be advised that chaplains cannot access or remove an incarcerated person's property, provide an incarcerated person's information, nor can they perform marriages or add names to visiting lists.

The religious programs and services reflect the culturally diverse Fresno County community. In partnership with community volunteers, multi-denominational worship services and Bible studies are offered. incarcerated persons may also receive visits from clergy members. If an incarcerated person’s faith is not represented through one of the active ministries, the Volunteer Services Coordinator or a facility chaplain will contact the clergy or a faith leader from the incarcerated person’s religious community to meet individually with the incarcerated person.
The Delma Graves Adult School is administered by the Fresno County Office of Education and offers Literacy, Adult Basic Education/General Education Development (ABE/GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Personal Skills Development (Life Skills) education.
